We are pleased to announce that Cutech is the first and only AWS ATF (American Welding Society Accredited Test Facility) approved company for Welding in Singapore. The AWS ATF is a vital part in the operation of the AWS Certified Welder Program. The AWS Accredited Test Facilities are a group of highly dedicated facilities that have been ascertained as centres providing all necessary resources to test welders based on the well-recognized and reputed program all over the world.

The AWS Certified Welder Program is designed to provide portable welding credentials for code welders. Welders can test to a number of code-specific supplements that pattern themselves after the qualification requirements of those specific codes. Supplements are available for the structural steel, chemical plant & refinery piping, sheet metal, and petroleum piping industries. A special feature allows welders to certify to non-code or company-specific welding procedures, allowing for the maximum flexibility in a rapidly changing regulatory climate.
ATF – The process
The AWS Certified Welder Program is a program which does not entail any prerequisite courses or prior certifications. Companies and their welders with the certification are vastly recognized and highly sought after due to mounting demand in various sectors. Under the AWS Certified Welder Program, the Welder Performance Qualification Test is witnessed by an authorized Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) of the Accredited Test facility, which then conducts the necessary tests and sends the results over to the AWS. Once a candidate welder passes the test, a CW (Certified Welder) certificate is then issued directly by the American Welding Society.
The Certified Welder (CW) program tests procedures employed in the structural, petroleum pipelines, boilers, pressure vessels, sheet metal and chemical refinery welding industries. Furthermore, there are provisions to certify welders to a specific employer-supplied or non-code welding specification as well.
